Stupid liberal northeast. The permit says to carry pistols and revolvers does not state concealed, however they can charge you with breach and pull your permit.

People say they have open carried in my town but seeing as where I work that would be a bad idea.

Sheet. That's a lot to dig through. The way I read it is this - TECHNICALLY it's legal to open carry, but if someone is alarmed by it and calls the cops, then you've disturbed the peace.

Exactly I work at the police department as a civilian. Bad idea to test the waters.

legal in AZ. I do it occasionally if I'm too lazy to throw my gear on. My wife does it almost daily. I've seen a few others open carrying - no one cares here.

how can you disturb the peace if you are obeying the law :ugh:

hurting someones feelings in a legal manner isn't disturbing the peace

That's they way most places are going.

It's legal to open carry here in New Mexico, and most of the towns, non one could give a shit. And some it's even common to see people open carry.

Albuquerque and Santa Fe though? Forget it, you'll be spending atleast a night in the clink.

In Las Cruces it is no big deal either. It is really easy to get a concealed though, go through Florida.

I already have a NM permit, it was easy to obtain. $150 class, fingerprints, couple pages of paperwork and $100 to DPS/State Police and 8 weeks later I got my card.

In PA, the law says a permit is required if you want to carry a concealed weapon.

No permit is needed for open carry--except within Philadelphia.

But, you can't open carry in a car.

Open carry is legal here, I don't do it much though.

To and from the range/girlfriends/families places.

Trust me its way different up here especially in fairfield county. Too many yuppies I've been to west virginia where anyone has the god given right (except felons) to open carry as they please without a permit.

We have to live with a lot of faggotry up here in New England. New Hampshire and Maine are about the only safe places left in this corner of the country.

And yes, being seen with a firearm up here will get the cops called on you. If you're in public, there's a fair chance you'll be charged with breach of peace. In fact, I had some queer neighbor call the police to my house because the nutjob saw me through a window IN my home with a weapon. She just told them she saw a man with a gun, they were cool about it when I explained I had no clue what they were talking about and hadn't been outside at all, but sadly enough given a lot of anti-gun mindset up here, I count myself lucky the cops were sane individuals.

if you work for the police dept just ask them what they would/could arrest for :dunno: you have all the legal resources for this at your fingertips

edit: plus, if you work for the cops as a civilian why not conceal carry? why feel the need for open carry? you'd probably be mistaken for a cop a lot :dunno:

Convenience. Less likely to be a target. Educate the masses that good people carry firearms.

FWIW, I use to open carry a good bit here. No big deal, got a few stares occasionally but made some friends out of it too, surprisingly. I still do occasionally, maybe once every two weeks.
