I for one, wish to thank Toyota for making this new Darwin Device a standard feature all new models.

It goes to show you how seriously Toyota takes their corporate motto "make things better". By systematically killing off all dumb drivers of the world, Toyota has sharpened the pointy end of evolution. Those that can move a shift lever from D to N will survive and reproduce. Those who lack this basic cognitive skills required for this test will be removed from the species, frequently along with their current offspring.

With this improved version of natural selection, future generations of the human race will emerge even smarter and more able to adapt and overcome adversity.

Thanks again Toyota, for designing such an elegant and effective feature into all vehicles.

    Signed
    Your biggest fan,

    Engineering Kid.

I think it's dumb that people can't move a shifter from D to N to save their own life.

Thankfully, my Toyota product has a cable throttle and it's a stick-shift.

There should be a vehicle basics requirement for getting a driver's license.

car and driver showed that a camry full WOT and 100mph

will stop in 435ft just by slamming the brakes

so not only did those idiots in the lexus not shift to neutral, but slamming the brakes was also not what they did

didn't some guy try to recreate this and you had to hit a button or something to get it into neutral? also the brake boosters don't work at WOT and it was a push start, driver didn't know you had to hold it to get it to shut off while driving (the car was a loaner)
