So, there's a lot of discussion at the federal level recently about "Don't Ask, Don't Tell, Don't Pursue" (DADT).

And I'm wondering what the viewpoint is from our troops, versus the politicians and lobbyist groups.

Given that gay men and women are already serving in the military, but are simply not telling anyone that they're gay/lesbian, here's my question:

Do you think openly gay men/women should be allowed to serve in the military?

not openly...the current policy allows them to serve and it works.

the current viewpoint is that we don't have an opinion. :wavey:

You suck at interpretation. It merely says that if the thread is doesn't meet a mod's threshhold for whatever - the thread is fair game to be moved / locked whatever.

While I haven't been in the military for well over a decade my view is that I don't care if someone is gay or not.

I also think "don't ask, don't tell" was a retarded copout policy.

I think it's good the way things are now. I don't have a problem with homosexuality, but a lot of the people I served with were really against it. I think it's better in general if it's kept confidential.

my opinion is i dont care provided the soldier performs as they should. judge soldiers by their merit, not their personal lives. seriously.

I have only seen one truly gay person in the USCG. No one cares.

I only know a handful of gay people that are in the military... I think it works well the way it is.. then again one has HIV... and the two are quite fruity... nice but A little to fruity for me to handle if they were open about it it could be too much.. its like that obnoxious fruit candle your mother burns and it gives you a headach after a while...
