All, Since many of you have reached out so much, I hope you don't mind me sharing that the boys have arrived. Granted, they are 5 weeks premature, but that was due to my severe high blood pressure and I delivered via C-section. they were born on Friday the 13th, which I think is fitting for Chris. Connor Phillip was born breech at 2:23 pm weighing 5 lbs 3.8 ounces and 17 1/2 inches long, peeing on everyone. Robert Christopher Jr. ("CJ") was born breech at 2:25 pm weighing 5 lbs 14.2 ounces and 18 1/2 inches long. Connor was monitored very closesly as we thought he was going to be below 4 lbs at birth but surprised everyone. Right now both are in the NICU but are only on feeding tubes, and have not needed any air or any other resusetation or life supports. They did have IVs after birth to flush out the magnesium sulfate that I was given to control my blood pressure (I had to be stabilized before they could operate, so I had massive doses) but those came out within 2 days. They are now learning how to suck, swallow and breathe at the same time (meaning eat from a bottle or breast) - once they do that then they can come home. In the meantime I am commuting to & from Anchorage to the NICU to care for them while my 5 year old, Drake, is in school. Word is being circulated among the nurses that they may be home the end of this week and if not then at the very latest the end of next week. They are reported to be the best babies in the NICU and also the ones that have the loudest farts and loving to pee on all of the nurses..... I'm sure they are making their father very proud. I asked a friend to do some photos as she had offered before. A few can be found on her site, here. http://lisacampbell.livejournal.com/3481.html For reference, it is CJ's foot, and hands, then at the bottom, Connor is on the left and CJ is on the right.
