I was sparring a little harder than usual yesterday with a guy who is bigger than me, and also better at grappling (BJJ blue belt). I caught a teep kick pretty hard right to the sternum. I also got caught in a triangle from mount and then he threw down some punches before I tapped.

I get home, and even more so this morning, and have a really sore chest. I assume it's a bruise or just sore. Can I put ice on it? Would that even do anything? Maybe just put some of the cooling gell on I've been using? Or maybe just leave it and suck it up...

    Ow.

Ice and Heat will bring a bruise out quicker. But id just suck it up they take a while to recover. I strained some intercostals (muscle between the ribs) and hurt my sternum took me a few weeks before it stopped hurting to cough let alone hit in the ribs.
