ibook shipped with half the HDD taken up?

    my gf just got a new ibook (right before macworld :)) with ilife 05, standard software...

    ...and it shipped with only 24GB free. wtf? whats eating up all the space?

    takes up HALF THE DRIVE, though?

    can anything be taken off?

    iLife '06 w/ all the jam packs is over 11gigs

    if you're not gonna use garage band, take it off :hs:

    Yea, I just upgraded to iLife '06 and did a custom install. Garageband is f'n huge! Plus it has all these added loops & samples.

    yeah, get rid of alot of the ilife stuff and iworks package and some other bullshit stuff...
    it'll free up a good chunk...
