I was reading how people wait a whole week before working out a muscle but i go to the gym every other day and I do everything from squats, to curls, biceps, back, dips, abs, legs. I spend about 2-3 hours in the gym. Is this bad?

Working your whole body = good
Working out 2-3 hours = bad

You should be able to knock out 12-14 compound sets and 6-8 isolation sets with decent intensity in under an hour. Not sure how you're lifting weights for 3 hours

It's almost time for a nazi crackdown. A bunch of you faggots are pissing me off.

And to 913, your program isn't that great. I'd say 2-3 hours is overkill.

The gay is strong in this thread...

I get the best results when I workout with high intensity for about 50-60 minutes. That means not resting for more than ~2 min between big exercises and working up to a rep max for each exercise. No sense in wasting 2 more hours at the gym if they're not going to help you.

it's hard to keep lifting when it burns. I wait about 5 minutes between every set:hsugh:

I'm making a lot more progress on a full body routine than the upper/lower I used to use... I'd say try both and see which works better.

Why does it burn? Are you doing 20 rep sets or something?

This is what I've done, and it works well for me (though I didn't go on to the high-rep second phase).

Yeah but no full body routine should take 3 hours and I'd be interested in seeing his exercise selection + sets/reps.

i do 15 rep sets or until i can't go anymore.

edit: I do 5 sets of every machine/workout

edit: I start light and work up to heavy
