I think I bought this one (Pelican 1750) for about $200 shipped. Cutting the foam took a couple days.

I believe some states require you to declare if you have a firearm in the car, regardless of where.

Depending on the kind of stop, it probably is a good idea.

Because two of my three vehicles are heavily (and illegally) tinted, I usually speak up. Mind you, I've only been pulled over once while transporting though.

The ocd nut in me really wants a big case with lots of custom cut foam for everything.

Cutting the foam is easy but it's time consuming. mfingar on arfcom put it best by posting, "Prior preparation prevents piss poor performance."

The top layer is cut out, but i'm sure you'll be able to buy some cheap foam online.

Let me see if i can pics of mine still.

Got dimensions or model numbers? Black and not pixie dust pink or something? I probably would go for it just to feed my compulsion :big grin:

A can of Krylon flat black would take care of any fruity color

you would be fine in ohio as long as the guns are unloaded and there is no ammo stored in the case... until Sept. 9th when you car also becomes your castle

It's the "Double Rifle Case" on their PDF. It's black. It's in the closet, all the way in the back. Would be handy if I travelled with my rifles on the plane.... But I dont. I'll dig it out and take pics later tonight.

Well I dont use it. It's wasting room in my closet. I need more space for more junk. :o

Condition. The top layer is cut out. The bottom layer is unmolested. The outside of the case. I'm sure it might have a couple of scuff marks by now. I'll look over it once it comes out.

The only issue I might have it, i have no idea what shipping will be. There's no box. I'll probably just ship it as is. I mean, it is a hard case afterall. It's meant for transportation right? :o

PS, Soybomb told me, you can have it if you want.

But be warned, if you don't take it I'm going to and spend hours crafting the perfect foam insert ;)

If it helps any, Pelican 1750 dimensions should allow you to approximate the cost:

    53-1/4"L x 17-1/2"W x 6"D
    39lbs

Its ups oversize for sure! From those dimensions it would bill at like 45 pounds so $50 ground to my zip.

Smart and courteous to let him know they're there.
I'd be impressed with the build quality.
