The AF would create a Warrant Officer structure. So highly skilled technicians would be paid better.

    Post your wish.

Ditto the AF Warrant Officer. I think it was a dumb move to phase them out in the first place.

My personal wish is that they would get rid of age limits for AGR positions.

I wish the AF would bring back enlisted pilots. If even just on choppers and 130's.

I wish it wasn't a requirement in the AF to have your spine removed prior to sewing on E7.

I was argueing this same thing on another forum one day. Ended up in a heated discussion as to why it wouldn't work in the AF. Guy asked if we could take it to private email, I agreed. Then I get an email from a full bird at the AF Academy. :eek3: Needless to say the discussion became very professional very quickly. He was writing a paper at the time on how the WO rank could be implemented into the AF rank structure. Just happened he was also a internet junkie like a certain Oak leaf smasher we know.

I wish that the Army would bring back either the Technician or Specialist ranks that it once had.

    I.E. Technician 5th Grade, Technician 4th Grade, Technician 3rd Grade. Specialist 5, Specialist 6, Specialist 7.

that AFROTC had a summer training program that wasn't a complete waste of time that puts on the appearance of having one because they have to go through something.

I believe it's 35 for non-prior service, and 40 for prior service (adjusted - subtracting your service years from your age).

It's unfortunate if that's what it's degraded to in a few short years. When I went through in 2003 it was incredibly physically and mentally demanding, probably the most of anything else I've ever done in my life. Of the small % of folks that were picked up to go, plenty of people failed out or self eliminated from the program.

I know 2004+ had a knee-jerk reaction because of how tough 2003 was with a camp of ice cream socials and no yelling or physical discipline (god I wish I was joking), but i thought it was fixed by 2005.

it's not that the stuff we did in the field wasn't good. it's just that unless you work in a few chosen career fields you're never going to see anything like it again. Very few people are going to need to remember search procedures, convoy ops, bare base, and small unit tactics. Even then they didn't really teach us enough or long enough for us to retain enough of anything that we learned. It was just familiarization to see how people could lead which was fine. however, they could put us in situations that may be more relevant to more people but that wouldn't have been possible with the deployed aspect.

I personally thought that the time in the dorms was a joke. bedmaking and superman drills are a foreign term according to a buddy of mine that went through LDAC and another that went through LTC. I also didn't see the translation of a lot of stuff that they made us do into an active duty experience. Like the 36 hour mindfuck of operation boomerang with the GLP before that where they were going to do a squadron level switch but told us to hold off after 5 minutes of fucking with us. if somebody calls you and tells you to pack your bag because your deploying you're gonna act like it's the real thing no matter what because you don't know. When they tell you to carry out operation boomerang you're liable to think that they're fucking with you again which I don't think would happen on AD and a deployment exercise. We didn't spend a lot of time watching movies though which wasn't a disappointment. I just feel that they need to spend some time and think about ways that they can instill an attention to detail and a sense of urgency while still being able to evaluate us without something that strikes a skeptical person that doesn't drink the kool aid as fucking stupid and ridiculous.

I would have preferred PD because I wasn't stressed past 5 minutes of in processing because they couldn't smoke me. I sorta had the mindset that yelling at me wasn't a bother because I've been yelled at, swore at, smoked, and terrified out of my skull and they couldn't match or exceed that experience. They originally made it so that CTAs couldn't pull 341s according to the manual but they changed the rules. Gen. flowers didn't want CTAs to pull 341s but after he left I guess that they decided to do it anyway. A lot of them were on powertrips and acting like self important douche bags. I think it's dumb as all hell for CTAs to act cool with their flights behind closed doors but as soon as they get outside of a flight area they turn into captain jackass. That and a lot of them seemed to take a huge massive shit on the ATM.

I think it was a move to appease the Politicians - Politicians have been after the services to rid them of Warrant Officers. Army and Marines have resisted vocifierously.
