    ugh, horrible machine.

    too bulky to be portable.
doesn't perform well enough to warrant the price.

overall, horrible machine from a horrible company.

I've bought a few things from Dell in the past (never again), and their customer service is the worst I have ever had to deal with...

that would be alot better with a wireless keyboard...

Well, to clarify, what I mean by "like this" is a 20 inch screen, two hd's and 4 gigs of ram, coupled with all the other features you've come to expect from a mbp. And something only has to be portable enough for me to be picked up and carried with two hands and small enough to fit in my car and through a doorway.

meh it would be a very niche market to support a product like that. Honestly, you can build something better that supports your needs.

I think there are people out there who could use the extra screen size. Bigger screen, two hd's, more ram, a full size keyboard with number pad, I think it could work.

This system isn't as fast as you think it might be. My MBP with the X1600 was only a couple FPS slower than it's X1800 in Company of Heroes. It's unwieldy, batter life is none (MAYBE 2 hours surfin'), and it's embarrassing to cart around.

    I would rather carry a MB, and a 20-24" ACD ;)

The SATA spec allows for this.

not rly. This is a niche product.... And the people that could use it are the same people capable of building their own rig that can better-suite their needs than a sweat-shop like Dell... And would appreciate the better quality that can be acheived by not using shit from Dell.

It's a very sleek-looking desktop, but I wouldn't want to carry it around like they say you can.

If you're looking for a sleek, space-saving desktop, Apple created it.

I'm just saying the spec allows for it, I'm not saying to do it to your MBP :fawk:

So if Apple made a humungo laptop like that, they could have a hotswap drive so that you could load different footage, photos, etc instead of an external solution.

I guess it's halfway between. Like an iMac plus a "base" unit that accomodates more customization / addons. But it really doesn't seem flexible enough to replace a desktop or portable enough to replace a laptop. It's like the Pontiac Aztec of the computer world. Lost between two purposes and ugly as hell.
