[Gomi is over-rated.]
I wouldn't say over rated.
But I would say he isn't near as good as everyone thinks he is
just a little
I dunno... I think BJ or Sherk would wipe the matt with him, but he is still a VERY solid LW...
Diaz, Aurelio, BJ, Hell Boy. I don't think he should be considered number 1 in the world. He's definately top 3 or 5 though.
Yea, I'm not saying hes not good by any stretch of the imagination, I'm just saying that he isn't as good as most people make him out to be.
I agree he smashes lesser guys but struggles with the top guys. damn fun to watch though
kawajiri, mach, azeredo, and friends are "lesser guys"?
this made me
i want sakurai to rematch him and destroy him. He lost cause his amazing judo throw hit the ropes on the way down but thats the name of the game.
Only homos use judo
Isn't that the definition of over rated?
1. To assess or think too highly of something or someone; to overestimate it or them.
Thesaurus: overestimate, overvalue, magnify, build up, exaggerate; Antonym: underrate.
To row at a rate that is faster than (one's opponent).
Regarded more highly than is deserved
Thesaurus: overblown, overvalued, disappointing.
I think BJ would wreck Gomi. Since he has already. Sryhaveaniceday.
When someone loses in MMA there are 50 things that could have gone in the favor of the other guy, an inch here and there and you could have a knockout or submission. Saying someone is overrated for losing a few fights is lame.
Very few people say a fighter is overrated in his rise to popularity, there are a few of course, but generally they are people who are hoping for that fighter to lose for the i told you so factor.
I heard something that Gomi doesnt train as hard for fights he doesnt feel challenged by. It was probably from the actual broadcast, but if thats the case, he might have felt that Diaz, having not been a banging success in the UFC wasnt worth his time. He looks pretty well trained and in shape for every other fight I've seen him in.
