Well that too. I'm going to stick with my 70-200 for now to cover the longer ranges.

sorry, the 1ds3 shouldn't be part of any holy trinity. No body should, for that matter... They go obsolete so quick... You'd have to have a 1d4 or a d3s, and they'll be replaced in a year...

    The primes, hell yes.

Well I have a D3s but I see your point.

Ok, so my holy trinity will have to consist of the 35L, 85L and.....ummm......the.......

I want this lens sooooo bad. I've been thinking about it for the past 1/2 year and trying to justify the price. My biggest concern is that the 85mm would be too long on a crop body. I picture myself doing a lot of stitching in PS.

i LOVE my 85 1.8 on a crop body. i feel like it is such a more usable focal length than a 50mm was, but then again, i use it for stage pictures of my daughter dancing and for portraits.

    Welcome to the club.

What do I hate about this 85L??

The fact that even after my firmware update, I was only able to snap 40-50 photographs before it drained the battery and shut off the camera.

If I can't find a way to fix that I'm selling it.

Cost prohibitive. To replace my gear like for like with Nikon, I would have been upside down by about $4k. :wtc:

    ROI fail.
