    Pic in post 7.
I went on a date over the weekend with a guy who appears to have his shit together.

    Good job
    Honest
    Kind
    Funny
No freaky fetishes that I know of (like the furry guy)
but, most of all, really cute... :)

Wish me luck, boys... Date 2 is on Thursday... :x:

I will... I'm ultra-sensitive to that at this point.

The only yellow-flag at this point is that he's very active in the "AIDS Action Committee" and does the annual "AIDS Ride"... so either he knows someone who's HIV+ or he is HIV+ himself.

So, I have no proof that he is HIV+ and I'm sure I'm overthinking things... and we're nowhere near sleeping together... so it's not a problem now.

    Still, he's a handsome sonofabitch... :)

He is indeed handsome and if he is HIV+ then I'm sure he would have enough curtisy to tell you before you two are sexually active.

I hope thinks work out well!!!

i think you are overlooking things. Being active in AIDS related service just means he cares about his community and the state of the disease in his community.

I would say it's more a hint at him knowing someone who is HIV+ (and who doesnt nowadays) than being HIV+ himself. I started into HIV advocacy when my best friend was diagnosed HIV+. A lot of people volunteer to learn more themselves and pay it forward

But other than that, him working in those things makes him get BIG brownie points in my book!

I think if he's active in the AIDS related services he knows better then anyone else about AIDS transmission. I'm sure he'd say something before doing anything.

    And yes......... He's very hunky.

I will, when the time is right. It's only been one date (second one tonight). We're not close to the sex part of the relationship... So, when the sex stuff comes, then we'll talk about our HIV status and sexual history (as it relates to our health)

perfecto! You don't how hard it can be at times to convince people how to talk to the people they're having sex with about one another's HIV-status! The younger, the harder it is to convince them sadly, which is why half the positive diagnoses we've been handing out have been coming from kids under 25. Scary stuff!

    Date 2 was last night...

He's a great kisser, so that's GREAT. We had a pretty hot and heavy make-out session in my car (I drove him home since he walked to the restaurant from his place).

We're still in "interview" mode, where we're getting to know each other, so that's sucks a bit... but he's really nice and really handsome... so maybe we'll be able to transition to a more comfortable thing (less of an interview mode)... maybe once I go to his place and we can get comfy... we'll see...

I'm just happy whether it works out or not because, for about a year, I've dated several guys... and nobody has made my heart flutter the way it did with me ex. And with this guy, my heart fluttered and I got nervous and excited... the way I used to with my ex. And whether or not it works out with this new guy, at least I know I'm not dead inside... :o Sounds so dramatic, but it's true... for a while I was like "Am I that damaged? Will I be able to find love again?"

So, it was nice to feel that excited about someone again... He told me that he's dating other people... so I might not be the guy for him. And that's totally fine. I'm confident enough now to know that I'm a catch. I'm just happy that I'm not dead inside... :big grin:

Congrats Sam! I need you here next Thursday! There's this guy in my advanced public speaking class that I think is gay and last night we were in a group together and I think we kinda clicked. He went outside with me on both breaks, commented on my truck etc. and I think he was wearing a pinky ring, does that = gay? He has short dark black hair and a beard and both of them are starting to go grey.. omg so hot!!! He's probably in his late 20s to early 30s just guessing.

doesnt hurt to ask him to go grab coffee? The worse they can do is say no! And if he's straight in the end, you have a new friend.

    It worked for me.

that's exactly what I was going to say...

    :bigthumb:

In other news, date 3 is in two hours... He's coming up to my house and then we're going to take a drive to Vermont and watch the snow fall on the mountains... find a quaint little town and grab a bite to eat and maybe do some antique shopping... :)

And then we're going to meet up with some friends of mine for dinner. They're in Vermont to ski for the weekend. And then I drive him back to my place and he heads home... or not... we'll see... :)

such a gay little date, though...
