[lots of exercise and eating fewer calories] no but seriously, once I decided I didn't want to die of a heart attack in my 30s (I'm 29), I set out to lose the weight that's killing me. One of things that I discovered is that I needed to ditch all the "advice" and complicated shit and keep it simple: eat less, move more. Turns out, it's been working. It's not easy, it takes a lot, A LOT, of motivation at first. And discipline. But once I realized there's no easy way to do it, accepted it, and saw my mortality staring at me, it keeps me going. Now I eat smaller, lower calorie meals and I work out 1/2hr in the morning (ok, sometimes 20 minutes), and 30-40min after work. And I had started out doing some resistance work and cardio, but now I'm exclusively doing cardio (I do half treadmill half ellipitical usually, sometimes all ellipitical, every once in a while all treadmill). Now, will it work for others, I don't know. I don't even know if it will continue working for me. But it's working so far, so I'm going to keep going with it. Hopefully it helps someone on OT that's looking for help. I know I came here when I started. There's a lot of information here, ultimately I realized it's more advanced than I need right now, so I'm posting this.
