    "bulking" is stupid, unhealthy, and a waist of time. He had been body building for 15 years and said that there is no point in putting on fat, to try and make it muscle, then try to cut the fat down. It's bad on your body, and servers no real porpous, you can get big and keep your body fat % low if you balance your diet. Makes sence to me :dunno:

    Seem like everyone on here who is skinny is "bulking", and to me it sounds like an exuse to eat total shit food, like doughnuts and fast food. This doesnt affect me cause I'm trying to lose weight but still.

    What events and competitions has he won? If he hasn't won any of the major ones or even qualified for them, he has no right to diss on the bodybuilders for someone who has been doing 15 years of body building.

    wait eating unhealthy food is unhealthy, bulking is fine to gain mass but that means eating right and clean when bulking. If your diet is right and your working out hard you will gain and more with more cals.

    After reading these boards for the last two weeks I'm pretty sure most the guys on here are bulking off total shit food... there were threads about papa johns pizza, krispy kreams, and drinking coke with every meal in the last week :hsugh:

    So I'm assuming if this guy was lifting for 15 years and claimed to know what he was talking about, then he was huge and lean?

    He was probably just talking about clean bulking.

    He said he was natural, and he was a pretty huge, cut guy. I believe that he does compete, he's like 235 lbs with 10% body fat when I talked to him, all rip.

    Anyways, the point is, he did make sence, why lard your body up then try to make is muscle, eat calories equal to your work out habbits. If you're trying to get big, eat big, but dont get fat on porpous to try to get big afterwards :dunno: I'm no fitness guru yet.

    bulking ! = pounding everything in site.

    it simply means that youre not competing/preparing/shredding for a competition, therefore, youre packing on size........and supposed to still do it in a clean way.

    from what i understand abotu bulking, its eating high amounts of good things, such as rice pastas steak chicken, but all the time. i put on alot of clean weight by eating that way, yet i never followd through with the gym 100%. i always found excuses to not go, but im workin on getting back

    I was 6'4" and 175 lbs and I kept trying to put on muscle without the fat and for my body type it just did not work, I had to take in so many calories that it was only natural to put on some body fat. It is just the simple fact that in order to gain mass you must be taking in more calories than you are expending hence you will store the extra energy and the most efficient way to do that is by storing it as fat.

    I thought "bulking" was anyone who was gaining muscle mass. They only way to do that is to eat more calories than maintance (no matter how you get those calories) and getting some extra fat was just a side effect for some depending on diet :dunno:

    i can't believe how many spelling errors are littered throughout this thread alone. those don't bother me so much as the things like "waist" in place of "waste" and "your" in place of "you're"

    btw, spelling something incorrectly because you're typing too quickly is completely different than what i'm talking about.
