I havent done any jogging in about 6 months, so I decided to talk a walk in the park. I ran for about 1/2 mile and my calves started burning like never before. So I decided to walk back to my car, while I was walking my feet started sleeping. both of them. My right calves were burning more than my left one.
I am in pretty good shape, 24, not over weight, actually kinda muscular, go to gym 5 days a week, no health problems at all.

Does anyone know what the heck is going on with my lower legs? hate to visit the doctor if its something minor, but you never know :hs:

Podiatric narcolepsy. It's kinda dangerous, see your doctor.

I was thinking that too, but I'd still see a doctor.

    Thanks for the response guys.

I was just at my doctors (Cleveland Clinic) 2 weeks ago for complete physical check up. My doctor checked my spine cord and legs thoroughly. Made me walk on my toes and heels. She also checked knees and other parts of my legs. She said im in "perfect shape"

I did have my shoes on kinda tight but they werent uncomfortable.

Yeah, i used to get the same thing when I raced crosscountry a couple years ago. Keep your ankles and feet stretched and pay attention to how you land you feet on the ground when you jog. Hopefully it works out for you :dunno:

Make sure that you are not jogging on your toes.

I got new shoes, tried not jogging on my toes and tired other advice you guys gave and it seems to help. I didnt really have any problem today. Although I didnt run as fast as i did last time.

Im gonna take it easy for few days and after that I will try running as i normally did. lets see

    Thanks guys

perhaps youre shins are swelling and impeding blood flow to your feet or impinging on a nerve from a slight muscle cramp.. those are some reasons your appendages typically fall asleep.. maybe its happening here, as well.

what if it was a runners high? i remember last year one of my teachers that coaches some sports says runners can get a runners high which is a bunch of stuff the body produces while running for a bit. i get it during the end of my run 1-2 miles. some runners try to sprint their first mile to get the high so the rest of their run isnt that hard. it feels like numbness in your body and it makes it easier to keep going and harder, only thing that holds you back is breathing and heartrate. maybe this is a runners myth idk
