Ok like the title says I want to setup a proxy. I have tried a few proxy server's but haven't got one to work for some reason. I am using FF3 and would like it if someone could provide me w/ a working one and instructions on how to do it. Any help appreciated.

This is not illegal or to get around any blockers... I want it for my own online protection.

This forum does not allow advice on circumventing security.

There are tons of proxies all over the internet. Google is your friend. There are free proxies that will litter the page with framed adds and there are pay-for proxies that wont slow you down much at all and have no adds.

How the hell do you people know he doesn't want a proxy server for his home network? Hmm?

Suspicion isn't enough. Get him to admit that he wants to use it to download mad war3z on his school network, or else let it be.

As usual, there is a debate independent of the question... and no help is provided.

You expected more from a clusterfuck of social rejects?

EDIT: Funny thing is, the discussion would've stayed on-topic if Jolly hadn't once again shown how badly he wishes he were a mod.

Because you just assumed the worst instead of thinking about the question. :o

And because you had just set up an http proxy to circumvent security at your job when you saw this thread.

Oh shit. :eek3: Damn, it wasn't Jolly. Heh...sorry 'bout that.

But...let this stand as a warning, when I inevitably see Jolly jumping on the BANwagon again, I will scold him as fiercely as I did here! :rl:

I intentionally stayed out of this shit-pyle of a thread. Let this stand as permanent proof that I am NOT the cause of shit around here... ya'all are just fine starting it yourselves.

Have you tried Tor? Its slow, but it works and its just a plugin/application install. And you can turn it on/off with one click in Firefox.

    tor :bowrofl:

my understanding is that other people will use your network connection for their own "anon" uses when you are running tor. Besides being an obvious performance hit, this opens your IP up to investigation in relation to illegal uses.
