pretty much always used PCs but do have some mac experience. I currently have a pretty new/good desktop but i have been kind of relizing i dont really need it. I will be going to grad school soon and im thinking a nice laptop may be a better choice for me. anywayssss been lookin at apples and had a few questions.....other than basic computer functions, i would probably need some audio production features and i would also like to be able to hook up my klipsch 5.1s. other than that im pretty much just wondering if my needs would sway the decision between an ibook or a powerbook? any suggestions...

Almost everything that's on your PC is on a Mac, in some form or another. Here's a few examples.

    Code:
    PC MAC
    IE IE
    Firefox Firefox AND Safari
    Outlook Express Mail
    AOL IM iChat
    MS Office MS Office
    MySQL MySQL
    Bittorrent Bittorrent
    Photoshop Photoshop
    Movie Maker iMovies
Windows Media Player	iTunes and QuickTime

That's off the top of my head.

Oh, and I'm pretty close to getting iBook. Well, at least that's what I want to get.

Windows Media Player, iTunes and QuickTime are available in both platforms.

Xfactor does an awesome job at that. Lime wire also has an OSX version, but Xfactor is all you really need.
