I know nothing about lights, except turn them on and they are never bright enough unless you use a car battery. So id like to spend around 50 bucks for something that I could use around the house at night and to get me out to my tree stand during hunting season. I dont think I need it to be waterproof but not die if it gets a little wet.. Where can I look around, or the best place online to buy one.

Basically- Fenix and Surefire are both popular choices, for battery life you might want to look at an LED light, popular emitters are the Cree Q5 and the Seoul P7. Most flashlights use CR123 Lithium Primary batteries which can be costly and are not rechargeable. Unfortunately most flashlights that run on CR123's can not run regular rechargeable batteries without some tweaking due to a voltage difference.

No, I'm serious. I have a couple that use one AA and they're bright as hell and nicely made. $20 each.

That would be one of my top choices as well. Especially since the P60L lamp in it is also made to work in the G3 so it can handle two rechargeable batteries no problem.

I've been very happy with my Fenix. It's been dropped and dunked over the last 2 years, still works great.

    I have one of these
    http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.8537

It is an awesome light. Better output than my cheap 2mill cp spot and throws a beam further than I can see. Not too big either.

Light, batteries and charger are about $50.

I picked up a couple of Streamlight's new PolyTac LED flashlights. They are marketed against the Surefire G2LED, but a heck of a lot brighter. It's the same C4 LED and reflector that comes in the TLR-1 weapon light. 120 Lumens, CR123s, forward-clicky tailcap. I've bounced mine off the pavement a couple times (on accident) and it hasn't had a single problem. Quite a deal for $35

Anyone want to clue me in on why WMD-type crowds seem to have such a hardon for flashlights? I don't get it.

Probably the same reason why I'm fascinated by dusting things and seeing how much dust I removed.

What would be a good light to mount to an AR from either Eagle Tac or Fenix?

Any recommendations on a cheap light mount?

  24. I mounted a TK10 to my AR once. For a cheap mount, I just used a scope ring.
