    For my next car.

I'm getting a company car, and won't need a practical daily driver after that point. I want something fun to play with, and thats my favorite F-body years, other than the classics.

Anyone have a late 3rd gen?

used to... it was slow and didn't handle very well... but they can take a good beating. just don't have high expectations. overall, they are a POS.

why not get a 4th gen with a LT1 and a six speed?

I used to really want a 4th gen.

But I just don't like them anymore. Sure I love the drivetrain, but I don't like the seating position. I dont know if a 3rd gen is different yet, but it seems like it would be

I'd really like to get a 70-72 Camaro, but the prices on those have shot up lately.

lollerskates. If you don't like the 4th gen seating, you gonna HATE the 3rd gen.

And yeah, I'd love a split bumper :wackit:

seating in the third gen is not much different. in both cars you feel like you're sitting on the floor. visibility over the long hood of the 3rd gen is not very good either. it never bothered me, but some people hate it. i've owned an 86 and a 96... both Z28, and i would choose the 4th gen any day over the 3rd gen.

have you at least driven a 4th gen with a v8 and six speed?

Did you put a breather on the valve cover? Reportedly that's the way to avoid the intake leak. If yours isn't leaking yet, but a breather on the valve cover. :)

3rd gens are pretty sweet as long as you can find one in good condition. I used to want one for my first car but I got a 4th gen Camaro instead.
There are some really shitty 3rd gens out there so watch out. My friend's 3rd gen Camaro was such a piece of shit.
