It's been awhile but I can. It's not one of those things I can have someone else do, is it? Otherwise they'd be manufacturing the receiver?

I wouldn't worry about it as long as you are present and do some work.

I'm not seeing a barrel and I'm sure a few more parts need though.

Some people have registered receivers, others have registered sears. HKs are pretty popular for machine guns because you can swap your full auto trigger pack between HK-91s, MP5s, etc. Lots of 07s build them as post samples too for that reason.

my guess is that you can have a person weld your flat so long as it does not go above 80% completion... If my memory serves me correctly it's possible for companies to sell flats to people and even 80% recievers without having to do a 4473.

Some types of FFL you can bulid/acquire dealer samples. Otherwise if you have a registered machine gun receiver (pre-86) you can buy the FA trigger parts but you can't transfer them to another gun. If you have a registered trigger pack you can put them in whatever gun you want since the registered part is the sear.

Sometimes I wonder how much BS the NFA is. I wouldn't personally convert a gun to FA, but I have friends who do so on a regular basis. I have a friend in the army that works in the armory and he says a lot of guy bring back burst/FA sears and put them in their personal guns. I have another friend that can convert is AK with a twistie tie. I'm not condoning this shit, but sometimes I really wonder how bad it would be to get caught if you're not using it to commit a crime or being wreckless with it. :dunno:

Again I wouldn't risk my freedom for it, but still you gotta wonder.

my thoughts on the subject, xpinchx, is that if the SHTF, you'd probably want something more than SA. I know a few guys who do that too and just assume that they wont come knocking.

Honestly if the SHTF I can't think of many situations where FA would be preferred over SA. :dunno: It might give you a slight edge if you're clearing houses or in close quarters, or if you're being rushed by a mob of zombies but as far as a realistic SHTF scenario where you'd need it for protection and/or hunting SA would do just fine.

You wouldn't how many unregistered, suppressed, short-barreled, full-auto destructive devices I have in my head.

Knock off all the FA talk...I don't want the ATF killing my dogs or raping my fiancee to knock her up then causing a miscarriage.
