every store i walk into has super wide leg shorts that cover the knee. I'm looking for stuff more like these. I don't want to drop a TON of cash so don't direct me to like D&G, but I wouldn't mind dropping a few bucks on a nice pair or 3.

Did you try a Polo outlet? I've got a few pairs from there that sound like what you are looking for.

Also, try department stores in the mens section, rather than the young mens section. Near where they sell the golf shirts and whatnot. *shudder*

I could rock the shorts, but not with those shoes. Or the blazer. Or the hat.

shorts in 2nd pic are

All the stuff I've found recently is made to go past the knee so it goes like halfway down my calves because I'm short :o Baggy is good but super long is not imo
