    Buy a used one. There are plenty out there. Both e36 and e46.

    Go for it. There's tons of them on ebay. Just don't get the 11/01 builds.

    You can get them for $1000-$3500 off msrp now depending on the dealership you goto.

    It is still $20K+ more than my 328Ci is worth. I like the 328 though...

    shit i'm lucky if i can even afford an 330ci. i rather have a 330ci rather than a rice rocket which is pretty standard here in frisco. realistically most average people afford and attain a 330ci, but m3 is just a dream for us regular people. of course i would pick a m3 over a 330 though

    I wish I could affored a USED M3!!!

    Did anyone see the article in Eurotuner about a guy that built a e36 M3 from a 323i?

    Very true, its like a Ferrari, if its a replica its not a real Ferrari. But for some of us it would be the closes thing to a real M3.

    I see your point but when all is said and done that guy's car probably cost more to build than just saving and buying the real thing.

    I don't know the specifics, but no not really. I have heard that the only thing they REALLY have in common are the outside looks.

    I know the e36 M3's have a upgradded chassis from the 328i.
