    I want to buy one of the 70-200 the problem is that i dont know which one. the longest lens that i have shot with is a 50 :wtc:
    should i start with the f4 or f4 IS or go up to the 2.8???

    dont beat around the bush. go for the 2.8. If you buy the f4 you'll eventually get the 2.8

    I have the F4 IS. It's served me well so far. I haven't used the 2.8, but I've heard it's a monster of a lens.

    try them out. I got the 2.8 IS, but the f/4 IS is the sharpest, and weighs considerable less

    I would love to try them out but there assholes at my local camera joint. especially if you dont buy anything. i think im getting the 2.8 but im going to try to check them out first.
