You can't buy a handgun period. As far as I understand the federal laws. 21+ only.
Now you can buy a used handgun from a private seller.

In order to buy a handgun through an FFL dealer, you need a permit to purchase a handgun. Problem is, you can't get a permit to purchase a handgun until you are 21 years of age and aren't disqualified by certain criteria.

What does it stand for then? The only meaning I know of for "FTF" in the gun world is Failure To Feed. Edumacate me sensei.

I can only speak for PA law.

If he is 18 his parents can technically buy him a pistol as a gift and it be legal. I believe he also can transport it to a designated shooting facility in a locked case legally. But he can't just walk into a gun shop and pick one up.

my first glock was a 23.....great pistol but i lost interest in the .40 round a while ago and diverted my collection to to 9mm and .45acp...you may find yourself doing the same if youre just starting out :dunno:

totally incorrect in AZ - there is no permit requirment. You do have to be 21 to purchase from an FFL, but you can own a handgun at the age of 18.

Alright, nice to know. In MN you have to have a permit to purchase, atleast for an FFL dealer. You can buy a handgun at the age of 18, but only from private sellers. A gun shop will not sell to you unless you are atleast 21 and have a permit to purchase from your local police dept.

My past few guns have been .40s, don't like 9mm too much, and 45 is pretty expensive with low round cap

So what you're telling me is, "All Glocks are perfect but some are more perfect than others."

Personal preference. Fits better in his hand. Its not better than any other Glock.

Hey, it's your flawed logic, not mine. I'm just pointing it out.
