But I need four doors.:sad2: The Lightnings were reg cab only, right?

I started thinking maybe I could look for one of the newer Harley Edition F150 Supercrews with the detuned Lightning motor. I think they made something like 340hp vs. the Lightning's 380hp. Depending on the cost, I'd like to try and upgrade everything to Lightning-spec, like swapping out the wheels and making the needed suspension changes(if any). I don't need the flashy chrome or graphics, either. Of course, some power mods would be nice too.

Anyone think this is a good idea? :x:

I think that would be badass. And it wouldn't be hard at all to bring it to (or past) the Lightning's 380hp.

I'd rather have a Supercharged Titan.

Well I like the Titan too, but I was hoping I could get a used Harley F150 for cheaper.:hs:

Either I do the Harley/Lightning thing, or get a PT Turbo:)ugh2:), or a WRX wagon. I want something with FI and some tunability.

I don't particularly like Ford much, but I love the Lightning, the new Cobra, and I'd love to see the Merc Marauder with the Cobra motor.

WRX Wagon, and aren't the harley edition F150's more than the lightning or close to the same $$?

I don't know how much the Harlies go for, but I was hoping that they might not hold their value as well as the Lightning. My reasoning behind getting the Harley in the first place is that I need 4 doors, and they come in Supercrew form.

My reason for the WRX wagon is the extra practicality over the sedan, my hearing that they rotate a little better because of the extra weight in the rear, and the fact that they aren't selling well in my area. Might be able to haggle a bit and pick one up for cheaper than a sedan, despite the higher MSRP.

I still love Nissan, though. If I could wait longer and get a Titan with a blower like the one out for the Q45, that'd be great. Might be pricier than the Harley, though.:sad2:

HD's can get pretty close to Lightning's, but it will take much more mods to achieve the same results. You won't get the reinforced Lightning's frame though :p

I need to find pictures of a head-on collision between a Lightning and a Chevy Silverado. It was pretty funny because they loaded all the parts that fell off the Chevy on Lightning's bed. Chevy was totalled. Lightning lost the bumper without any further damage :wiggle:

EDIT: there was a close up of the frame too which was only slightly bent on the very edges... it looks like solid railroad tracks :naughty:

All non-Lightning F150's simply use bolts and rivets to hold the frame. Lightnings use that AND it is also welded for extra strength. Stronger frame was needed to hold the heavy Lightning engine.

Really? I think I'll just spend $10k and try to adapt the Q45 blower from Keuylian Motorcars. :hs:

"Close to the same results" is just fine with me. I'm not trying to make it a track vehicle or even pass it off as a "4-door Lightning." I just want an enjoyable drive.

I really don't want another fwd, but the 180hp PT Turbo is probably my cheapest option.

HD f150's go for about the same as a used lightning.

which is pretty good cuz they were supposed to cost more.

A guy I know has a black 4x4 quad cab F150. Very badass looking.
Just get that with the 5.4L and get a supercharger from Vortech.

That's a good idea, too. I just don't know how/if the Triton was modified for FI duty. I'm also wondering if swapping the DOHC head from the Navi is possible. That thing already makes 300hp NA. I'd love to see what could happen with a blower.

I also figure that by the time I'm ready to buy, the Harley won't cost that much. :x:

    The harleys are

They only seat 4 though, they have buckets, not benches (if that matters).
