I haven't run in 7 years. Hopped on a treadmill today and used the stupid saftey clip so that it would shut off if I fell off. I took that off after I hit it with my arm 4 times and the machine shut off. Finally got warmed up and started for 30 minutes. I ran 2 miles in 25 minutes :hs: I started off at a speed of 6 but when I went to get my HR and the machine said something close to "CURRENT HEART RATE NOT RECOMMENDED" I slowed off some (Guess my HR was 200+) anyways I kept varying between 3.0 and 6.0 for speed. All disoriented when I stepped off it for running for 30 minutes. :bigthumb: though it was actually fun.

I stretched before I got on but my shins felt stiff for a good portion of the running is there a specific stretch I can do to keep that from happening again?

I can hardly walk today :o

Should I increase my pace today when I go in or take it easy? Also anyone know of any stretches that would help my shins from feeling "stiff"

No pain no gain, I didn't pour out much sweat running the 2 miles in 25 minutes.

what speed do you guys run at? My treadmill is set to its highest incline (I should lower that bish) and if I run at like 4mph i only last 6.5 minutes and sweat like a freaking monkey :hs:

What is ideal running speed/incline for losing some fat? :o

    10.0 / 6.5

10.0 for about .25 of a mile, then alternate 30 seconds each of 6.5 / 10.0. At the end I run at 10.0 for another minute or minute and a half. I typically cover 2 miles in 14:00 using this method. No incline.
