im in CA so AKs and ARs aren't an option. i like the m1a. i'm either going to get the scout configuration, the socom 16 configuration, or the socom II configuration.

    what do yall think?

as you will see, AKs and ARs ARE options.

Thats one option, you could make it SB23 compliant instead which isnt a huge deal for AKs.

i guess an m1a just appeals to me more than an ar/ak without a pistol grip does

for me, it would be the JAE stock or just the regular wood stock.

Personally, I dont get why everybody is :wackit: over SOCOMs. the lack of barrel beyond the gas port must play hell with their operation, and considering that even the socom isnt very light, I dont see why people want to give up all that barrel :dunno:

Personally, I want eventually to get just a M1A standard and put the JAE stock on it.

    :werd: I'm with you.

Personally, I don't believe that .308 has any place in a battle rifle. .308 is for sniping. :coold:

no, it is great as a battle rifle round, as an assault weapon round, it blows though. (for me, battle rifle = 200+ yard engagement)

My main beef is alot of people who have bought them have had QC issues with the parts Springfield uses, they dont use USGI parts anymore. Also theres been a few cases of the springfield recievers cracking. I understand alot of people dont want to spend all the money Fulton wants for theirs, so If you want to go as cheap as possible I'd recomend getting a polytech over a springfield, but the Poly's dont come in the shorter config.

  22. heard they have alot of problems with the newer M1A's :hsd:

    are FALs CA legal?
