Damn, I really wanted this car, Hellion kit FTMFW.
why for would he not sells this coupes mustange?
@ Nigerian scammer engrish.
That intake manifold looks kinda weird. Does it really accomplish anything to totally reverse the airflow like that?
i think notches are the only stang I like the FR500 wheels on
Longer runner = more torque @ lower rpm
that's the way the 5.0 manifold is
Okay, but why not put the intake and the throttle on the other side of the engine bay, so the airflow doesn't have to reverse direction like that? It doesn't have to fold in half to be longer.
I'm guessing here, and not attacking, so bear with me.
My guess is that if you do it the way you described that it tends to feed air straight down the center runners. Making all the air enter a chamber and then reverse flow down the runners seems like it would have a better chance of feeding equal air to each runner, which would be important in an "early" MAF/MAP EFI car.
Since this is a forced induction set up, I think that works even better. The incoming air hits the back wall and disperses throughout the plenum before being forced by following air mass down a runner.
Just my .02, and I'm as likely wrong as right.
I believe you're right, it's to disperse flow evenly to each runner. If it were to just direct it downward i think the middle two ports would be getting a ram air effect with the others would have to fight for vacuum. Many ford intake man.'s have a reverse of airflow, mine does - just does it top to bottom and is a super cool extra light composite:
ever hear of "manifold volume?
Thanks Mjolnir and Smelly for bothering to explain. The rest of you can go fuck yourselves.
Whoa, that's a hot notchback.
Really nice car. Would be better in black though.
that notch is pure sex
Fuckin 1 clean notch !!!! Any interior shots?
Speaking of which...
August '07 copy of Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords has a spread on a black notch on FR500's, with a centrifugal blower on the 5.0. B E A UTIFUL.
I've daily driven an '82 GT since '06, and the two guys I work with just bought '87 & '89 GT's... one of which is the owner of the company, and a long time ford freak. He has a '70 Mach 1 I'll have some nice pics of shortly, but he keeps talking about using this 351w block he has, and after some rummaging through our newly received PAW catalog, turning it into a strokered twin turbo setup. And I believe he may be crazy enough to do it.
NINJA EDIT: What'd you offer for it?
