i agree, I don't like the laptop right in the middle of it, if you had moved one step or two to the right I think I would've liked it a lot better.

And by "Negative," I hope you mean "You're right!" It's a sharp photo and nice shot of him. But Who is he? What is he doing? Where is he? What is he looking at? What is he thinking? If readers MUST read the cutline to understand the photo, it's a bad newspaper photo. Period.

Wow, dude. One of the most important rules of journalism is NEVER assume your audience is familiar with the subject.

I think the laptop adds interest to the photo, and you can see enough of his face to recognize him (if you know him.) But my eye is immediately drawn to the awkward intersection of the laptop and his right eye. Other than that, I like his expression, I like your point of view, and I really like the B&W conversion.

Wow, dude. Its not an assumption. Its a fact.

Dont even come in here and act like all the great pictures in the world (not that this is necessarily a great one) tell this complete story. I see a ton of pictures all the time that I think are great but I still dont know who it is or what's happening.

    http://www.reuters.com/news/pictures/rpSlideshows?articleId=USRTX8VHS#a=1

A great number of those breaking one of the most important rules of journalism by not directly relaying a couple paragraphs of information. But what do the Reuters guys know, right?

If you dont like the picture, you dont like it. Photography is subjective and not everyone feels the same way. I like it. :wiggle:
