I was pretty disuaded when I started reading that lots of people prefer to tune their hachirokus to only 140hp, because any more than that will make chassis flex very apparent... and the 4A-GE engines look okay, but they didnt appear to be anything amazing, sort of like honda engines, which everyone hates on...

But then I got a video two of them beating an R34 on a track in japan.. :o

They are crazy little cars.. :big grin: How are they so fast!?

well one of em is only Keiichi's 86 which's got parts you prolly can't buy even if you had the cash.

that and the fact that the R34 is a big and heavy car..:) u figure out who's gonna outhandle who on that track

besides..whoever was driving the R34 didn't do a good job at it. :big grin:

get kurosawa behind the wheel of that monster and he woulda put up a good battle.

I honestly don't know who any of the driver's were, but it appeared that the driver of the slower 86 was in fact the best driver of the group.. despite having a slow launch and a slow car, he passed that r34.. just insane...

Those 4A-GEs absolutely ROAR.... incredible sound.. :big grin:

    Me want!

i'm pretty sure it was dorikin who was driving the slow one... it was to illustrate the point that driver skill matters a LOT with uneven cars...

Exactly, an average driven in a F1 vs a pro in a Civic would own the F1.

The average driver would be into a wall on the first corner

That crazy 86 costed approximately $100,000... PLUS parts that are priceless because you simply can't buy them... alot of the work was done by the driver.. that's very respectable, but I guess a midly tuned 86 would be nowhere near as fast.. :(

Please refrain from using the term Hachiroku. Its makes you sound as gay as someone screaming "Hey man you got NAWS on that VTEC"

Actually, you need to learn that the term "Hachi Roku" is the Japanese language way of saying "86" and is thus correct. :fawk:

you can find the clip on the fasttrack network (kazaa lite, morpheus, etc) under "initial d special" or something along those lines.

I am aware of what the term means. And it still makes you sound like a geek who has watched 5 to many cartoons.

You still don't get it man. The term predates InitialD, thats why it was used so much in it.

It is such a common everyday term. There is absolutely NO geek status tied to it whatsoever. In fact, the only person who presents a negative image is you for looking like such an idiot who has no clue.

Are you aware of what the term "goddamn idiot" means? It makes you sound like one when you randomly start calling us ricers.

I refuse to get into a pissing contest with you, and I hope the others on this board would too, but I believe I have made my stance on your opinion clear, so you may as well not waste your time replying.

    Have a nice day.

    beleive me, it happens... ;)

i recently went to an Auto-X event & was practically the only N/A 4-cyl competing... the rest of the field was comprised of such cars as a few Nissan S13, S14 & S15 Silvia turbos, an R32 Skyline GTS-t turbo, an R33 GT-R V-Spec II & even an R34 Skyline GT-R V-Spec, 2 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 4's, & few other big-balls Japanese turbocharged monsters...

i happened to set 2 fastest times on two separate courses in my little 86. granted mine isn't exactly stock ;) , but i still managed to beat the R33 GT-R (stripped out, driven by an experienced driver) by over 4 seconds over one short-course!

i wouldnt call myself that good a driver... i can hold my own on the track, & i consider the guy driving the GT-R (and most of the other competitors) to be better than i am, but everyone there agreed after that day that the AE-86 is definately not to be fucked with.
