    oh i'm not saying he doesn't do a helluva job, i'm just suprised he isn't upset like most actors who get typecast (like jason alexander)

    ben stiller is pretty typecast, but has done serious roles also...and i don't even consider matthew perry an actor

    I dont know that I agree with you on stiller. He gets typecasted most of the time. however, Permanent midnight>*.stiller

    He's smart enough to not bitch about a good thing. He basically gets to play what he really is. He gets to act like a hard ass, have fun, shoot shit and yell at people and get paid for it. I'm sure the military background helped firmly plant his feet in reality. Imagine going from cashing your check as a marine to being in a kubrick film. I sure as hell wouldn't complain :o "OK, who do I get to call a maggot today?"

    What about that film with Jason biggs, steve zahn, and jack black where he ended up playing the gay football coach.. i wouldn't exactly call that a typical ermey role

    yeah i've heard about permanent midnight but unfortunately haven't seen it yet, but for the role he played in it i knew he wasn't 100% typecast

    I havn't seen it :o But basically, what I was getting at is that he's smart enough to know he's got a good thing going and won't bitch about just being cast to play General XXX.

    i'm just saying that overall his army roles outnumber his other roles by far
