When i do Tricep dips in the "dip station" (side handles, pull up bar) ....i keep my body verticle, crossing my legs and go straight up and down...i dont lean into it at all... (chest dips) and no matter what i feel a sharp pain and stretch in my chest when im doing them......

It just means your chest is lacking. Keep doing it, you'll even out in time.

Its hard to keep them flared in depending upon how wide your dip station is.

true, it's easier with an adjustable dip station
