i think my coach gave us a retarded lifting program....amirite?

    leg press
    leg extension
    leg curl
    calves
    bench press
    military press
    bench pull
    seated row
    bicep curls
    weighted crunches

    3 sets each.....20 REPETITIONS!!!!!

    so i just got back from the gym doing this workout, and i feel that these 20 reps are completely absurd. im thinking that if your doing 20 reps....you should only do 1 set. thats 660 repetitions!!!!!!

    we do this workout sundays....and wednesdays is everything minus leg lifts.

    this is for rowing.

    he wants us to do this for 2 weeks....and then we start to decrease reps, increase weight....but this was just way over the top.

    i think he's trying to say the coach maybe trying to build endurance? rowing is not just a strength sport, but requires alot of endurance.

    i mean theres days where we row 30,000 meters...so i understand his high rep philosophy. but i still think its too much. i feel as though 1 set would give u pretty much the same results as 3 sets.

    looks to me like hes trying to give his athletes general muscular conditioning... and that he has not moved on to strength building yet.

    tough to call a program retarded until you know what his goals are for the specific weeks hes got his athletes doing them
