He has way more fame than experience, and I think that within a few fights he is going to be thrown in with the big boys and his career will suffer horribly, if not be completely derailed.

I'm hoping he has level headed managers that won't screw him over.

I think he's gonna do pretty damn well against medium level guys. Even before he got any professional training he was a good fighter. He hit hard, he could take a punch, and he had his heart in it. The Sean Gannon loss had more to do with lack of conditioning than anything else.

Now that he has proffessionals training him I think he will do very well unless he runs into a really good wrestler who can put him on his back and keep him there. With Bas's training I don't think thats gonna be all that easy.

Buentello, Randleman, Carter Williams and even Hunt would all be good fights for him.

What is Kimbo's ground game? From what I've seen, he has none (I might be wrong).

My point is, a guy without ground experience will be put on his back by a guy who wrestled in high school or college. And there are plenty of them out there. If Kimbo gets thrown in with half decent ground guys, he will probably get twisted into knots. He needs time to build up his bag of tricks.

What sucks about that is Kimbo is one of those humble guys who knows where he stands in the game. He's a wise guy, that's why you see hiim with Bas..

Bas and Him will work out good gameplans for any of his fights, when Bas is behind you you are set man!

A good wrestler will put him on his back. But I'm sure that if he is training with Bas he is learning how to fight off his back.

I work with a guy who teaches Judo and wow, apparently no one is that good compared to him. He never shows up to our MMA practices to spar though :/.

We haven't really seen Kimbo's ground game, but I can see it as more on GnP than being technical. You never know though, he'll need BJJ and Wrestling to even go there, otherwise he's gonna find himself being submitted to a move he didn't think was possible.

His situation is the same as Brock Lesnar. He should be thrown in with the big boys if he is headlining events.

Kimbo's career will be just fine, win or lose. He should fight James Thompson next.

    That would be correct.

EliteXC won't throw Kimbo to the wolves they want him to be successful, so they can capitalize on him.

It should be fun to see him evolve and I will be rooting for him.

That is too much of a lose/lose fight.

He needs an opponent who has enough name recognition, so that if he beats them it will raise his stock with casual fans and Kimbo doubters.

Win or lose against Angle he is still a "freakshow" fighter.

    1. He would make 265 easy if he had to.
    2. Without Japanese freakshow $$ I dont see him fighting in EliteXC.

As loco has pointed out in another thread, Brock is a world class wrestler with crazy athletic prowess. Headlining events isnt always about the best match-up but who the fans want to see. Give him some time but its not like EliteXC has all that many big boys anyway.

He would/could make the cut for UFC money. They didn't sign him, so Japanese wrestling it is.
