It's the carbon monoxide. It makes me feel the same way I do after I've gone for a bike ride, except I can smoke a cigarette in about half the time of the shortest bike ride worth doing, and I don't have to change clothes or get sweaty or take a shower, and I can smoke year-round.

How do you think you are intaking carbon monoxide while riding your bike?

When I ride I get out of the city as fast as possible. The less vehicular traffic the better.

No, it makes me feel a little winded. I know, it's fucked up, but I think that's what's going on anyway.

The key for me breaking my 10 year, pack-a-day habit - I had to address both the physical addiction and the emotional addiction. There is a real tactile addition that most people don't even address.

I used to play with cigarettes when I smoked them and that was as much of an addiction as the nicotine. When I started to address those aspects of my addiction along with the chemical part, I was able to completely get off cigs.

My doc also said most smokers don't breath properly unless they're smoking. Breathing exercises, while "fake smoking" helped tremendously.

Don't give up....I've been 10+ years off cigs and it's totally been worth all the effort.
