So, I got an ATi Raeon HD 3870 from a friend of mine. I put it in and when I try to boot up my computer stated to beep at me and 2 lines of red "text" begin to flash on the screen.:wtc:

    Any thoughts?

Problem solved. So, I put my old one back in and it worked just fine. Then I put the new one in but I pluged my monitor to the other HDMI jack on the card and the "text" thatwas blinking became ledgible "Your dumbass didn't plus in the alternate power supply."

You mean the "you're about to explode a capacitor" squeal? I remember getting that when I put an Athlon XP into a motherboard that didn't like it. Scared the shit out of me, but fortunately nothing burned out.
