I've spent roughly $600 on comics and comic supplies in the last two weeks. I need to cut it down to $30 a week so I'll have money. :o

600 a week? Did you buy some TPB as well or did you buy every issue that came out? :ugh:

Edit: Though now that I think about it, comics are pretty expensive. :o

$600 total for two weeks. I bought 4 long boxes full for a total of $340, then $120 last week at the comic shop, including 400 bags and 2 boxes, and a Civil War #2 variant, along with an old Captain America annual, plus a bunch of $3 comics. Today, I bought $117 worth at one shop, which included a bunch of new comics, some older stuff, and 600 boards and 200 bags. Then I bought a TMNT #23 for $2, and four new avengers back issues for $9. It doesn't seem like much individually, then you add it all up, and it makes baby jesus cry. :wtc:

Were the long boxes full of old comics or new ones? Why did you buy so many at once?

Well, I bought two boxes that were pretty full from a guy selling off his collection. It was mostly late 70's-93. A lot of old Star Wars and Spiderman, along with some mixed stuff.

The other two I bought from ebay, mostly newer stuff, both full, with titles I requested. They both seemed like decent deals to me, I might have paid a bit much on the two boxes with older stuff, but I was excited anyway. :mamoru:

I bought them that way because that's how they were selling them. If anything, the comic shop I go to will give me a good price per issue on the stuff I decide I don't really want.

man, i HATE it when i get on eBay and go fucking bonkers. i'll buy the amount required to get free shipping...a couple times over and from a few different sellers. then when i'm about to go to bed, sit and look at my win list. yeah i snagged most comics for a couple dollars, but multiply that by 50+ books and you've spent a nice chunk of change.

make no mistake, the next few weeks a fucking awesome watching those 50 books come trickling onto my doorstep. every day coming home from work finding a cardboard bundle of joy just waiting to be read and stored away forever :o

Fuck me. Went looking for dividers today, and ended up spending another $60 on comics, bought quite a few old iron man, avengers, and cap.

Last night, went to barnes and noble to spend $20 on a price book, ended up spending $40 because I bought two flip comics and a magazine. I'm such an impulse buyer it's not even funny.

Oh, and to top it all off, I didn't even get any dividers. :wtc:

i spend a lot on action figures. comics ive slowed down on because im caught up for the most part on my TPB's :hsd:

i usually average $40 a week on comics (depends on what comes out). the rest of my money goes to action figures from stores or ebay :o

and i dont like the baggy + board method. i buy protectors that already have the board in them and have an adhesive to keep it closed :) run about $1 a protector

Once again, I thought of this thread today. $200 yesterday, and $200 today, with much more possibly next week.

Yesterday I picked up a boatload of Avengers, along with my new releases. Today, I bought the whole run of 100 Bullets up to #74. Also bought some Thor, Ultimate Marvel Team Up, a Captain America book from 1981, and the sweet, sweet Nick Fury Agent of Shield #1 from 1968.

Next week, my dealer is supposed to hook me up with the complete run of Ultimate Spiderman for below guide value, I think half off. I'm addicted.

Oh fuck, don't get me started on eBay. Like $400-$500 in the last three weeks on eBay. Pretty much most of my paycheck every week goes to comics and comic related items. :wtc:

    Ouch. :hsd:

I'm still going through and adding my collection to ComicBase and then I need to go in and add the cost so I can see how much the difference is between value and price paid. I'm hoping to at least have made some good deals.

On a side note, I never realized how much the early Ultimate Spider-man issues book for. The white cover on #1 books at $850 in nm.

Dillema time. My dealer just called and told me he'd sell me 2 long boxes full of Valiant/Acclaim titles for $75 each. While I'm not a big fan of most of the titles, I do like some of the ones he has. I figured I could probably sell the rest on ebay or something. Good idea? Bad idea? All books are bagged and boarded, vf to nm. I also have another roughly long box and a half I was planning on getting rid of that has mixed titles.

    1. Can you afford to in case you don't get what you paid back?

    2. Do you actually want them or is it just a deal too good to pass up?

    1) Yeah, next week or the week after.

    2) Yes and Yes.

The problem is there is quite a bit of "shit" mixed in with the few titles I do like. I also know that if I help him out by taking this off his hands, he will give me better deals in the future, as well. Also first dibs on everything he comes in possesion of. I also know he's getting in a bunch of shit I want in the few weeks. :dunno:
