First, I accidentally deleted my music folder from my sidebar by dragging it into the main window and now it is gone. How do I get it back with my Itunes folder and Garage band folder and it still have the little icon and not a folder icon that I would have if I created a new folder named music?

Secondly, Is there a way to change the Powerbooks name without repercussions or file issues? I bought this little 12" Ibook last week to sync to my 17" PowerBook and I need to eliminate the name.

If I cannot change it safely, how possible is it I can sync with my firewire and just put my 17" PB's hard drive info on this one and make a carbon copy? I've never done it, I'd need to know how.

Just drag and drop the folder back into the sidebar. About the name, I'm still working on it....

Try right-clicking on the name in the sidebar and rename it.

ok, I cannot right click on the sidebar (does nothing), and I dunno where the heck the itunes and garage band folder are now. :noes: I actually drug the music folder into itself. (from the sidebar to the window)

I can't locate them in the finder window by looking through the sidebar folders.

Since this is a new book and doesn't have a lot saved on it, I don't mind losing my preferences, but I'd wanna find and delete them all to avoid lost space on the HD. Dunno where to find all that though.

if you bought it second hand you might be better off burning everything you need on a cd and reformatting using the mac os cd. starting clean might be beneficial.

What I did was create a new admin ID and delete the old one. I just had to put my preferences back in and set the book up again.

It changed my shortname as well as home name. Only the actual book name remains the other guy, which I'll never see really so it won't bother me.

I didn't have any doc or pics to save since I just got the book this week. :)
