He's good of course. I did well though, I even swept him from half guard, and he was nice and complimented me on how strong I was. He wasnt able to do very much with rubber guard besides make me uncomfortable and force me into omo platas. he ended up sweeping me with an omoplata, and then twistering me from side control though. He has a very awkward style as you can imagine.

I'm going to go again tomorrow night.

we used to use the "twister" in wrestling all the time to score back points, set it up from a cross body ride but we called it a guillotine

he couldnt tap me with the omo platas.. i'd roll out immediately. and he tried doing normal side control on me, and I'd get out. But his "twister side control" was really tight, and I never felt a position like that, and I knew what was coming. I kept bumping and trying not to turn way too far into him, but all of the sudden one of my legs was locked up, and he was trying to twister me. I grabbed my hands together real tight so he couldnt put his arm around my head.. and I kept using my free foot to inch my leg out of the lockdown. He then put his arm deep through my arms, and did this weird motion to break my grip.. and it was all over.. I could feel it right away, tight as hell.

I'm an okay grappler.. I wasn't too happy with myself last night, so I messaged him on myspace and asked if I could come again, and he said okay. So I'm going again tonite iA.

I saw him last night, honestly he doesn't look that good. And he def did not want to talk to me, I walked up to him and all I said is "nice to meet you." and he gave me this look like, DONT TALK TO ME :ugh:

he was rolling with jason chambers, and jason chambers owned him. Anyway, going to other peoples schools and filming yourself isnt usually considered very polite..

eddie also let me pass his guard, and I felt good in side control, and all of the sudden I could feel him grabbing his foot around my back or something, and I felt like he was going to take my back! So I turned into him and landed in full guard. That was one of the most bizarre things I've felt in Jiu Jitsu. Being in control like that, and then somehow hes taking my back. I couldn't really see what he did, because like I said, it was behind by back.

Anyway, it def feels diff when Eddie does rubber guard compared to other people doing it... But I still was not incredibly impressed by it. It just felt irritating, and it uncomfortable. Like I said, the most he was getting was an omo plata when I would back out of it.

Overall, I was really disappointed in myself. I just gassed out and felt slow against his students, and I thought I couldve done, muuuuuuuch better. So I'm going again tonight.

Outside leg goes around and hooks if you have the hip/lower back flexibility. I can only pull it off against people with a sloppy side mount. When my buddy trained with eddie, all of his experiences mirrored yours.

a bunch of his guys used to train w/ me. so he let me come to class late, and then when it was time to spar, he asked me first. we went for like 10 mins or so. we were both being pretty slow and methodical. eddie has a really tight style actually.. he doesnt move way too much.

not really hard to believe considering bravo says he took the move straight from his old wrestling days with slight alteration.
