Went and picked up my Sig P225/P6 from aimsurplus today at the gun shop after the long wait of getting it here, then california's 10 day wait. Was in great shape internally, but wasn't all that pretty, as is the case with most of the P6's flooding the market right now.

Took it to the range, and shot. Feels great, very accurate. The DA pull is a pain in the ass... something will need to be done there. I was putting 8 rounds in a 1-2" circle at 7 yards without a hitch.

I've been planning on refinishing it, either duracoat, or shipping it off, but figured I'd see what I could do with an afternoon and some gun reblue. Ended up with something emulating a sig equinox, and a whole lot less visible wear everywhere. I like it. Who knows if it'll stay like this, but the polished slide sides and barrel gives a nice look.

needs some new grips to bring it out of the stone age. I could go for some black stained wood grips and totally copy the equinox. Perhaps I'll do some darker red stained maple girps.

Here is another picture like it that I saved to my computer earlier. I would probably do something like that to my 226, but dont want to because it is the K-Kote version. Maybe if I take it to CCR later down the road.

I like the all silver controls.

Nope, not an Equinox but an imitation. You should join us over at Sigforums. Probably the best forums you will ever be a part of.

That looks pretty decent, but without some accent on the frame/grip, it just looks like an equinox slide, and nothing else. Maybe different colored trigger, decock, and slide release?

haven't yet figured out how to take apart the gun to get all that shit off. Basically, this was just an experiment to see if I could even get the slide to look how I wanted. This is by no means a finished state... more of just messing around to see if I liked it.
