A&P I returned my Tamron 17-50mm, so what's next?

    Yes the images were sharp but I could not put up with the loud motor that sounded like an R/C car and the slow focus. My 18-55mm IS kit lens focused faster.

    I think my next option is to look into the Canon 17-55mm lens, although it costs twice as much. :hs:

    I was not charged a restocking fee because I told them I think the motor is broke since it was so loud.:mamoru:

    you could also look at the 17-40, its less range and f/4, but it will focus much faster and quieter. it is considerably cheaper than the 17-55 too.

    f/4 may be a problem since i shoot indoor with low light some times, plus not having IS isn't helping either.

    the next step in that focal length is the Canon 17-55 and nothing in between will compare to the picture quality of both of those lenses.
