    Hi audiophiles,

I'm trying get into the sound engineering thing, not sure if the community is really that big or forgiving with new recruits, but some years back when building websites with embedded audio was the craze I picked up on some software like SoundForge 4.5 (way over my head) and Syntrillium cooledit 96/Pro. I learned abit of it and even managed to make some wavs, add echos and whatever plugins the software had equipped. Now I want to learn the thoery and for a lack of better word, all the hardcore stuff with audio engineering on the PC.

Are there sites to ease an beginner ? Some forums which are topic specific would be helpful.

As well what are some industry creme de la creme sound cards ?

    As always, thanks in advance.
