I don't understand the point of going thumbless.
Are you kidding me?
Why would you thumbless with that much weight on the bar.
I go thumbless all the time....or I WENT thumbless all the time..Fuckthatlookedlikeithurt.
I believe the strength coach at Maryland has his guys bench thumbless and some of his guys can do 500+, I personally think this is fucking stupid due to the thought that simple thumb placement can have a huge effect on pressing numbers and even if it does 10 more pounds doesn't out weigh accidents like that video.
if that didn't crack a few ribs i don't know what will.
Some of the strongest benchers around bench thumbless
didnt it hit him in the throat
Read the info to the side he said he just bruised his ribs, no broken bones.
Did not crack ribs. Need more weight for that.
called suicide grip for a reason.
that videos old as shit, wtf
I use suicide grip on inclines and overhead presses now. I've always given people shit, but on these lifts it's so much more comfortable for me.
people struggle to stay knuckles up and going thumbless makes it much easier...no fucking way I would do it though. Suicide FTL
Saw a guy toss 225 onto his chest like that a while back.. yeah.. that was a horrific sight in real life.
vinny d benches 900+ with a suicide grip
my bud the 6" 270 korean FREAK benches 515(RAW) thumbless...says he just likes the way it feel in his palm...
who the fuck am I to say different with my shitty bench. lol.
Huge dude at my gym benches 5 plates and then some raw with suicide grip. Said that's just how he likes to bench.
what happened to him?
i bench thumbless because i have no thumbs.
That weight would/could/did(maybe) crack ribs. I seen cracked ribs from people receiving CPR.
motherfucking ow, yet i laugh since its entirely the dumbass' fault.
Benching thumbless activates the triceps more.
i can only do lat pulls or pullups with that "thumbless" grips. when it comes to bench, i just done feel safe
