are there any good tutorials for post prosessing in photoshop, I'm having a hard time with this for some reason, especially the photoshop raw editor tool thing that the file opens into first :sad2:

and it seems like whenever I save to a jpeg it loses ALOT of vibrance and color, more then I would expect from compressing an image

here are a couple pictures in particular I'm having a hard time with, for some reason the red on the car got really overexposed, what can I do to clean that up

    here are the raw files

for some reason it doesn't look as bad in the jpeg :o

oh and the camera was a 350D with the 50mm 1.8 and a polarizing filter

until I figure out how to deal with raw files properly I guess I'll stick to using jpegs right off the camera :hs:

Your first problem is that ugly car in a potentially interesting picture.

I usually use the polarizer to bring out colors in the sky or to lessen shine/reflection on water and glass pictures. I don't see this as being the problem with your photos because of the time of day, your sun is directly overhead, not causing the typical problems that a polarizer would address. I could be wrong, maybe it did work well, because I don't see any problems with the auto glass. ehhh. n/m maybe I just don't know anything.

When I download the CR2 files I'm getting an encountering an error in the files. they appear corrupt, Photoshop won't open them and ACDSee opens it with errors/broken picture. Anyone else having this problem?

I think it would look better in b/w or sepia. It would give it an older look.
