So I am running apache and the entropy build of php on my mac, and I am having problems with web browers resolving my dyndns address to my .local address. You can see it for yourself by doing this
    go to http://furnerc.dyndns.org
    now go to http://furnerc.dyndns.org/php
unless you fuck around with it, it will probably tell you chris.local is not found.
i need it to NOT do this so I can use apache for my php lesson plan I need to do tomorrow. :hs: help~?!

there's one line in your /etc/httpd/httpd.conf you need to edit

i believe it's UseCanonicalNames (something with "canonical" in the name of it)....just change it to the opposite of whatever it is now (i.e. Yes->No) and then reboot apache (sudo apachectl graceful) and you should be all set.

no problem--that's just something that bit me in the ass in the past...and then i had to reformat, forgot what i did, and got bit again. now i don't dare forget, lol. as for a resource about it though, i honestly am not sure how i learned about it. i think i probably just went through httpd.conf and was toying around w/all the settings one day when i was still getting familiar with it :dunno:
