You're allowed to fly with it, as long as you do it properly (locked, ammo separate, etc). Carrying it cross-country is going to be iffy though.

Guns and amtrack are a no-go. Plane is essentially no problem, your gun has to be legal in your starting and ending location as long as you keep traveling and aren't stopped for recreation.

That sounds incredibly uncomfortable. Hiking, biking, horseback, or rollerblading all seem decent, but longboarding just seems awful.

You'll also want to look up the laws on all the states you're passing through. Alot of states require you to have a permit in their state to have a handgun, even if it's in your backpack and unloaded

That is a whole international can of worms for any firearm, I did some reading on it some months back. Short story, it ain't going to fly.

They're not illegal, but they're heavily restricted. You definitely can't take one with you across the boarder.

It's probably best to just leave your gun at home. Since you're going to be skateboarding cross-country, I'm assuming the gun is going to be either on your person or in a backpack or something you're carrying. Carrying a loaded gun like that is illegal in every state you're going to pass through without a permit (except for a handful which may allow open carry), and carrying an unloaded gun is basically pointless.

 Bring your American gun into Canada? :bowrofl: YEAH RIGHT.
You have to jump through a million hoops just to do that for HUNTING, let alone backpacking.

Now you're starting to feel our pain when we say these individual state laws restricting this and that are ridiculous.
The Federal Constitution states that all Americans are allowed to own and bear arms. Period.
But this is what we have to deal with.

The best you can do is get a carry permit in your state, and if it has reciprocity with the states you are going to, you're good.
If not, then you get a Utah permit or like-wise, that does have reciprocity with the states you are going to.

Canada is a big NO no matter what.
