just went to the range and ran 400 rounds through my g23. i had 3 jams on 2 diff. mags both with the same kind of ammo. the ammo in ques. is winchester walmart valu pack. before i went to the range i cleaned my gun, removing the copper anti seize, and i replaced it with "shooters choice" gun grease. it was refered to me by the guy at my range. my question is "was it the ammo" or "was it the grease"?

    :dunno:

cliffs: cleaned copper shit, added grease, had 3 jams in 400 rounds. all were winchester 165gr. shit from walmart

    grease huh?

i just put a few drops of oil here and there :dunno:

the only 2 jams I've ever had in my G34 were also with Winchester White Box

I prefer UMC or Wolf :o

I've never had a jam from WWB in about 3,000 rounds. Aside from my defensive stuff it's all I shoot.

Edit: and mine is a 23 as well.

that is what i thought at first, but then it jammed right after on my next shot. and then in my anger i cleared the next 7-10 rounds shall we say "quickly"

with the grease i tried to replicate what the "copper" shit had covered

Could be that you just got 3 bad rouns of the WWB. I'd go ahead and clean the grease off though and just apply a small amount of oil.

Right, glocks are made to run on a minimal amount of oil. The only time you should ever need to really grease it up is if you're storing it away for an extended period of time. Lightly, emphasis on lightly, apply oil to anywhere that metal is rubbing on metal, i.e. grooves on the slide, top and bottom of barrel where they touch the slide, etc.

I don't think I'd clean mine if it wasn't for how much I like the smell of Hoppes No. 9 and just cleaning guns in general.

You'll just be giving yourself a lot of excess to wipe off.
