I have decided to upgrade my computer. I want to buy a PCI-E 6600GT and a motherboard that supports PCI-E and a 478 P4 CPU, no big deal, eh? Well I go to Newegg and the only mobos that support this arnt even out yet! Not only that but their are only about 5 mobos from Albatron. Am I doing something wrong? Or am I really looking for a setup that is kind of oddball, or what? Can anyone find more mobos like this that I could use?

you're asking for two technologies that were never "current" at the same time.

PCI-E is the current top-dog, but S478 has been discontinued. Kinda like DDR and S370... It exists, but VERY rare.

You're much better off getting the AGP version of the 6600GT if you want to keep your S478 chip. Otherwise, look at a 915 chipset -- but that will likely require you go with the LGA775 platform.

The thing is that if I want to upgrade my graphics card I would have to get a new mobo as well because it only has a 4X AGP slot :wtc:
