    This is going to go in my 1992 dakota club cab. Its 1 10" driver (ACi SV10 Sub) and a 200 watt amp (Alpine MRP-M200 Amplifier). I have no idea where to start. I know I want the sound to be more true & tight and not boomey if that makes any sense. I listen to mostly rock & metal with very little rap. I also don't want the box to take up too much space is at all possible. Here are the specs & websites of the driver & amp.

    ACi SV10 Sub
    http://www.subwoofers.cc/MobileAud/ACI_drivers/sv10.asp
    Znom = 4 ohms
    DRC = 2.72 ohms
    Fs = 18.5 Hz
    Qts = .360
    RMS = 250 W
    Sd = .031 M
    Vas = 84 L

    Alpine MRP-M200 Amplifier
    http://www.shopping.com/xPF-Alpine_MRP_M200
    Mono Channel
    RMS @ 2 Ohms = 200 W
    RMS @ 4 Ohms = 150 W
    Frequancy Response = 20 Hz - 200 Hz
    Low - Pass Frequency = 50 Hz - 200 Hz

    since space is an issue, you are probaly better off going sealed, a Q value of .707 is supposed to be optimal, so about 1 cu ft internal airspace should be good

    are you building the enclosure yourself?

    Driver likes sealed boxes for sure.

    I think I'd go a little smaller, ~0.8 cubes(after driver and brace displacement of course). It should affect the response too much but gives a good boost in mechanical power handling on the low end.

    his amp only puts our 200 watts why would he be worried about power handling?

    Because in a 1 cube box the sub will exceed Xmax with >150W below ~30Hz. Going down to 0.8 cubes it will take ~230W to reach Xmax @ 20Hz but only loses ~1dB @ 20Hz. I'm going off what I remember since I'm at work. I can post response and power handling curves once I get home.

    but he's listening to music, not sine waves, his sub will never see 200 watts
    not to mention most music doesn't go below 40hz

    I looked at it again...I think I got 1 cube and 1.2 (0.707) mixed up :o. Either 1 cube or 0.8 will be fine, will sound almost identical too.
